It's hard to imagine a world without the internet and today!

56.1% of the world's population has internet access and 81% of the developed world have access to internet. Internet has transformed every aspect of our life and we have been impacted in a way we communicate, shopping, navigate and entertain.

What kind of technology is essential in your life?

That's the end of my first part of the Tech series I am planning for a while!
Today I am highlighting a few more tech/digital modern tools and disrupt companies that change our lifes 180 graus - or it is changing our lifes!

1. Google Maps - Year 2008


On September 23, 2008, Google announced Google Maps app for its Android Operating System - coinciding with the 1st Android commercial device. It has been launched in 2005.

2. Skype - Year 2003

Skype first public beta version was released on 29 August 2003 and it was founded by Niklas Zennström, from Sweden, and Janus Friis, from Denmark. Users can communicate through both instant messaging and voice chat. Voice chat allows telephone calls between pairs of users and conference calling.

3. The Cloud - Year 2006

In August 2006, Amazon created subsidiary Amazon Web Services and introduced its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). Cloud computing (or on-demand IT) refers to a system of using computer services over the internet and you find in 3 ways: public clouds, private cloud and hybrid-Cloud.

4. Smartwatches - Year 2012


They have debuted in 1972 (if you are thinking about a digital watch) but using the technology that we have today, they are in the arena since 2012, when its founder Eric Migicovsky launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund production of Pebble smartwatches. He hoped to raise $100,000, but ended up with more than $10 million and orders for 85,000 watches.

5. Camera (photographing) - Year 2003

The Sony Ericsson Z1010 released in 2003, introduced the concept of a front-facing camera which could be used for selfies and video calls. These cameras became common on mobile devices, such as the iPhone 4 (2010).

6. Gaming (VR) - Year 2010

In 2010, Palmer Luckey designed the first prototype of the Oculus Rift but it was in 2016 that Virtual Reality became consumer-friendly with the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation VR headsets, the last became the first major commercial release of sensor-based tracking, allowing for free movement of users within a defined space.
7. Drone (non-military) - Year 2006

Started with agencies using for disaster relief, border surveillance and wildfire fighting, while corporations started using drones to inspect pipelines and spray pesticides on farms.

8. Augmented Reality (commercially) - Year 2008

Wikitude AR Travel Guide launches on 20 Oct 2008 with the G1 Android phone (HTC Dream). The Wikitude app was the first publicly available application that used a location-based approach to augmented reality.

9. 4G & 5G networks

With speeds of up to 100 gigabits per second, 5G is set to be as much as 100 times faster than 4G. The 5G networks are the next generation of mobile internet connectivity and offers faster speeds and more reliable connections. 5G will provide extreme speed, better battery life, better connectivity low latency than 4G.

10. 3D Television - Year 2010

3D television came in 2010 when Panasonic's unveiling of the world's first integrated twin-lens full HD 3D camcorder. Fujifilm launched W3, the first compact 3D camera and The Sun published the first 3D newspaper complete with a 3D glasses on June.
